The battle between the right and the left is just one more thing that is destroying this great country. I remember being a small boy watching the news with my grandfather every weeknight. It was a simpler time where if you wanted to watch “the news” you turned on Walter Cronkite and watched a distinguished, grey-haired man read the news and he was not trying to scare you into joining his side of the isle. You could watch the news and feel satisfied that you were not being lied to or getting some half-truth sound bite. A Republican and a Democrat could sit together and watch the same news show and for the most part would not want to kill each other. It seems like those days are over. Thirty-five years ago we had a total of eight channels to choose from and we were happy with our choices and now we have literally hundreds of channels and all we get is crap. And we have to pay extra for that crap. We see senators behaving like spoiled children by shouting at our president “you lie!” and Mitch McConnel saying that his main goal is to bring down the president. Really? You are putting that ahead of doing good things for the working people of America? You see people on the left showing over and over again a twenty-three year old 120lb girl getting her head stomped by Rand Paul’s aid because she wanted to ask Rand a question. Basically the left wants you to think that the right is a bunch of mouth-breathing troglodytes and the right wants you to think that the left are all spineless wimps who want to take away your health insurance and throw you in the Gulag. This is a bit of a mundane example but I think you get the point. Sadly many Americans have turned to either comedy shows to get their news or to propaganda to reconfirm what they already believe to be true. If you want to get the real story on how the mortgage companies brought down the economy you can go to a music magazine. Thank you Rolling Stone for doing our media’s job for them. If the media was really doing its job we would not need to wait for wiki leaks to tell us what our government is really up to or what the next big surprise our big banks have in store for us. This information is said to be released sometime in January.
Having said all this, could it be this is all just theatre? Is it all just a big show to keep us divided so that we wont realize how powerful we are if we would just work together as Americans? I believe this has been the plan for decades, maybe longer. I believe this is all by design. We watch the right and the left go back and forth while there is a group above them working them like marionettes. This group has no allegiance to the right, the left, or America. Their only allegiance is to money. Once this group has taken all it can from the American people it will turn its focus on China, India or the next empire on the rise while America becomes the next slave-wage society. I believe it’s time for us to abandon our old belief that we actually live in a real democracy and that this or that party is going to help us. We live in a pseudo-democracy that is set up to fail. We as Americans need to awaken. It’s called the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it. |
